A Steady Upward Trend For Tourism in Bulgaria

For just the first four months of 2018, the international tourism in Bulgaria has earned more than BGN 1.1 billion. Compared to the same period, but in 2017, in 2018 there is a growth close to 11%, according to the data of the Bulgarian National Bank.

Foreign tourist visits for the period January-April 2018 reached more than 1.772 million, and this resulted in an increase of 9.3%. The April travel receipts from international travels exceeded BGN 330 million - an increase of 11.2% compared to the same month in 2017. The number of visits for the five months of the year in total is around 2,436 million.

The results show a steady upward trend in the number of tourists and revenues from international travel. Most foreign tourists came from Romania - 427 538. Citizens of Israel, Russia, Ukraine, Germany and the UK also continue to have a significant interest in Bulgaria.
