WHO: Bulgarians Do Not Move Enough

Bulgaria is among the countries with the fastest growing percentage of people over 18 who do not move enough. This shows a report from the World Health Organization, Actualno reported.

The largest increases (> 15%) occurred in Brazil, Bulgaria, Germany, Philippines, and Singapore. The largest decreases have occurred in Cook Islands, Jordan, Tokelau, Samoa, Myanmar, Solomon Islands, and Tonga.

The organization warns that over 1.4 billion people around the world are at risk for a number of illnesses due to insufficient physical activity and advise at least 150 minutes of moderate physical activity.

An interesting fact is that the stagnancy grows in wealthy countries, where people are moving less and less in work and in their spare time. In poor countries, where work and mobility still require more physical effort, however, have lower percentages of immobilization.
