Vladimir Karolev: It's Easier to do Business in Macedonia than in Bulgaria

The economist Vladimir Karolev commented on the situation with foreign investments in Bulgaria, which have decreased 14 times over the last ten years and, according to him, the problems for the business are related to the slowly functioning administration in Bulgaria, and most of all, the corruption.

"In Bulgaria, even without corruption, the administration will hang you between 15 and 20 years. In Macedonia - only for 5 years," he commented, adding that this is the reason why most businesses are shifting to Macedonia.

In a publication he shared on his Facebook page, the economist added that in recent years there has been an exporting of Bulgarian capital outside. "If this was a result of conquering international markets by Bulgarian companies, it is great, but it is rather the result of choosing where it is easier and more rational to expand - in our country or abroad - the answer is more and more often - abroad", he added.
