International Music Festival "Piano Extravaganza" to be Held in Sofia, Bulgaria

For the eighth consecutive year, the International Music Festival "Piano Extravaganza" will be held in Sofia. Events in the festival program from 28 September to 1 December are organized by the Piano Extravaganza Foundation with the support of the Ministry of Culture, the Ministry of Defense, the Sofia Municipality, America for Bulgaria Foundation and in partnership with the Sofia Philharmonic Orchestra.

The Piano Extravaganza Festival is one of the most important music festival events in Bulgaria and Eastern Europe.

The Central Military Club, Bulgaria Hall and Chamber Hall "Bulgaria" in Sofia are the venues for the unique chamber concerts, recitals, and the symphonic concert.

More than 4,000 guests are expected at the festival as well as international artists including Romania's Anton Niculescu, Poland's Marian Sobula, Ilya Ovchinnikov from Russia, Nicholas Burdock from France, Sofia Hase and Eduardo Dominguez from Spain, Sergio Marchegiani from Italy, etc. On the Bulgarian side, besides the founder of the maestro festival Lyudmil Angelov, Victoria Vassilenko, Alexandrina Pendachanska, and Zhivko Petrov will participate.

Since the first edition of the event in 2011, the ambition of the organizers has been to attract the Bulgarian and international audience of classical music lovers who look for something different, offering them a truly unique program of concerts. The musicians invited to perform at the Festival are internationally acclaimed artists with recognized craftsmanship in the field of rarely performed repertoire or just innovative performers that wish to explore such a repertoire.
