29-Year-old Man Killed By 62-Year-Old Drunk Driver in Veliko Tarnovo, Bulgaria

Bulgarian police apprehended a drunk driver that caused the death of a 29-year-old man.

Dir.bg reports on the incidents, citing information from the press center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. The police were notified of the traffic incident on September 23, at 10:10 PM. According to the initial information, a pedestrian was hit by a car on Opalchenska Street, Veliko Tarnovo. The 29-year-old man died on the spot.

The driver escaped and went into hiding. A police unit arrived on the spot and made an assessment. As a result of a police search, the driver was located that same night. He is a 62-year-old man from Veliko Tarnovo. The man tested positive for alcohol. The exact concentration wasn’t reported. The authorities also took a blood test. A court case was opened.

A recent road tragedy had the driver of the deadly vehicle test positive for cocaine and cannabis. He may have also tested positive for alcohol if he didn’t hide from the police for an entire night.
