Bulgarian and Serbian Citizens Convicted for Cannabis Production in Belgium

Citizens of Bulgaria and Serbia have been convicted for cannabis production in Belgium, reported “24 Chasa” newspaper.

A total of seven indictees were brought before the court, and so far, it is unclear how many of them were with Bulgarian documents. They denied knowing they had participated in an organized criminal drug production group for export to the Netherlands.

For participation in the cultivation of 678 plants, the sentences pronounced are one to one year and a half imprisonment.

The accused ones told the court they were hired by a Turkish citizen and cared for the plants without taking into account the narcotic content in them. The case was reported when the group was detained in 2014 in Mouscron, Belgium
