10% of Bulgarian Businesses are Searching for Staff

About 10% of the Bulgarian employers look for additional workers despite a high number of unemployed people and frequent hiring of employees.

Nova TV reported on the problem. They write that every tenth firm in Bulgaria is searching for additional workers. 24,000 people under the age of 29 are registered as unemployed. Half of these have no specialized education. Business owners and experts claim that the demand is high, but the supply is low. While there are reports of an increase in young entrepreneurs, some estimates put the number of inactive young people at 170,000.

Nova interviewed Rositsa Venkova, the owner of a beauty parlor, who states that most Bulgarians want high salaries without having the proper education or skills in the field to warrant it. Rositsa reports that due to the lack of experienced candidates, she started to train hairdressers herself in hopes of finding workers who will have the required talent and work ethic.
