ABB Group Building Its Fifth Plant in Bulgaria for BGN 7 Million

Swiss-based international ABB is building its fifth plant in Bulgaria. It will be located in Petrich and the investment only in the building will amount to BGN 7 million. The future factory will produce low voltage products and is expected to start working in 2020. The production of the plant will be delivered to ABB's companies in Germany and Switzerland.

With an area of 7400 m2, the enterprise will hire 420 jobseekers and will provide staff training. The new building will include a 3500 m2 production hall, 1500 m2 administrative area, and 2400 mlogistics and expedition areas for the distribution of manufactured articles. The factory will carry out activities such as welding, pre-assembly, final assembly, and testing. 

ABB's first plant in Petrich was built in 1996 and produces low voltage control products. Two factories for low and medium voltage products are in the town of Rakovski, and one production unit for high voltage products in the town of Sevlievo. The service centers are located in Varna and Sofia. For 2017, the sales revenue of the company increased by 7% to BGN 355.9 million and its profit increased by 30% to BGN 14.8 million.

The Group operates in over 100 countries and has about 147,000 employees.
