Future Bulgarian Е-Health - Threatened by a Complaint

The auction announced by the Health ministry to complete the national health information system is threatened with an interruption due to a complaint, filed by one of the big companies on the market – “Stemo”, to the Commission for Protection of Competition, Mediapool reported.

The complaint was filed on September 17 and due to the Act, the auction will be suspended only after the Commission for Protection of Competition has informed the Ministry of Health about the opening of proceedings.

The Ministry of Health announced the order for the construction of the national health information system at the end of last month. It has an estimated value of BGN 4,125,000 (excluding VAT) and has to ensure the connection between the many electronic systems in the health care system that are currently in operation and which include the creation of at least 35 electronic registers, construction of health information portal, electronic recipe, upgrading the e-patient documentary, and more.

So far, a number of orders from the Ministry of Health have been paused due to complaints. Some of these include the electronic drug auction and the purchase of new ambulances.
