Protest Against the Political System in Sofia, Bulgaria

Sunday was a day of protest in the capital of Bulgaria. It was organized in the social networks by Emil Rusanov, a publisher of the “Budilnik” newspaper in London, and was declared as a protest of the Bulgarians living abroad. The participants were from the UK, the Netherlands, France, and Germany, according to organizers, and they returned to change the system.

Citizens blocked the square in front of the Parliament building. Demonstrators demanded an investigation into all governments so far, the withdrawal of political parties, and creating of a civilian cabinet. However, they want deputies to continue working so they can change the political model of citizens' demands. Some of the requirements also included a selection of personalities, not parties.

Today another protest is expected - against the repression of investigative journalists, but this time it will be in front of the Court of Justice in Sofia.
