Gold Medal for Bulgaria from the Rhythmic Gymnastics World Championships

The Bulgarian Rhythmic Gymnastics Ensemble won a gold medal in the finals of five hoops at the 36th World Championship in Sofia. Elena Bineva, Simona Dyankova, Stefani Kiryakova, Madlen Radukanova, and Laura Traets charmed both the audience and the jury. Their score was enough to beat Japan, who took silver with 22.800, while bronze was claimed by defending champions Italy on 22.550. The girls also guaranteed themselves a quota for the Tokyo Olympic Games in 2020.

Bulgarian girls remained third in the group all-around. At the balls and rope competition, Bulgarian team ranked 6th with 20,750 points. In addition, Catherine Taseva, Neviana Vladinova, and Boryana Kaleyn won a silver medal in the team competition for individualists.

The girls played confidently and the judges rewarded them with the incredible 23,300 of which the impressive 14,700 for difficulty.
