Good and Bad News for the Bulgarian Sport Fans

The Bulgarian national team suffered a very heavy defeat in the second round of the World Volleyball Championship. Bulgaria lost with 1:3 (21:25, 20:25, 25:22, 19:25) from Iran.

Iran managed to lead the first two games and win the fourth one as well. Bulgaria tried to make a turn, taking the third one. The fourth game went point-by-point; however, the team leader Todor Skrimov suffered an injury. This lowered the enthusiasm of the team and mistakes appeared that led to a difference in the result in favor of the Iranians.

After the loss, Bulgaria remains third in the ranking with three points from two matches, while Iran and Poland are leaders after having scored two successes. Today, the Bulgarian team will play against Puerto Rico.

Meanwhile, a good news from the basketball field - a sensation in the qualifications for the World Basketball Championship in China. The Bulgarian national team recorded a surprising success over the world champion France with 74:68.
