Growth in the Sales of Green Vehicles in Bulgaria

For the first six months of 2018, 79 fully electric cars were sold in Bulgaria, which is a growth of over 600% compared to the same period in 2017, when only 13 similar vehicles were sold. This is the data of the Automobile Manufacturers' Association for the sale of new passenger cars in general during the first half of 2018.

For the first six months of 2018, there was a growth in sales of:

- Hybrid cars - 708 compared to 588 vehicles last year

- Alternative cars - 787 to 600 vehicles last year

- Gasoline cars - 10,092 to 7,097 vehicles for the same period last year.

Fewer sales are seen in the new diesel cars - 10,202 cars to 9,751 in 2017.

The increase in sales of alternative/hybrid cars is highest in Spain - 80%, Germany - 72%, and France - 43%. The largest number of electric cars sold in Norway - over 35,000 and the lowest number – 46 in Estonia.
