Ryanair Cancels Flights Today; Flights from Bulgaria Are Affected

Irish low-cost airline Ryanair announced today that it has canceled 150 out of 400 flights from and to Germany due to а strike by pilots and cabin crew. So far, for Bulgaria, only flights Sofia - Berlin Schönefeld – Sofia are affected. All affected customers have been emailed yesterday.

Ryanair believes that the demands of the pilots are unfounded, as pilots receive a monthly salary of EUR 16,000 over a five-day week, followed by a four-day weekend.

Ryanair describes the strike as surprising and unnecessary and adds: „While Ryanair hopes to complete much of its schedule, in the interest of minimizing customer disruptions we have regrettably been forced to cancel 150 of 400 flights”.

This is the third strike within three months.
