Bulgarian PM: No Foreign Businesses Complain About Bulgaria

Bulgaria’s Prime Minister Boyko Borisov commented on the state of business in the coutnry and warned the opposition to not badmouth Bulgaria because “that will come back at them like a boomerang.”

Borisov made the comment during the opening of the Latécoère factory in Plovdiv. Dir.bg reported on the event. The Bulgarian premier said: “Our colleagues from the opposition want to speak out, and I understand that, but let them see what we did, to come, to see here. In recent times I’m hearing some tales from the opposition that our administration isn’t transparent. Let them come here and ask the foreigners. You can see, on each opening, we have ambassadors and owners, thanking us for our work of the local and state authorities. Nobody has complained yet.”

Borisov also stated that unemployment has reached an all-time low at 5,5%. According to him, factories like the one in Plovdiv are increasing Bulgaria’s independence from EU funding. In a Facebook post, Borisov wrote that Latécoère has invested €11 million and has created 200 job positions. He added: “We proved that it's better for us to be good partners in the EU and for Bulgaria to have manufacturing.”
