EU Leaders in Operation "Save Theresa"

All British newspapers reflect the words of the EU's chief negotiator on Brexit Michel Barnier, that an agreement on leaving Britain could be reached in the next 6-8 weeks.

The statement was part of the operation “Save Theresa”, launched by European leaders who fear that the October Conservative Congress, Boris Johnson, will be able to take her down as the party's leader, writes "The Independent". Some newspapers, however, argue that Barnier’s actual quote was slightly different. As the "Financial Times" reports, he said: "I think that if we are realistic we are able to reach an agreement on the first stage of the negotiation, which is the Brexit treaty, within 6 or 8 weeks."

The most complicated moment for the British Prime Minister may happen on October 2, when Johnson plans to publish a report regarding the Brexit terms proposed by May.

Leaders of the 27 EU countries will participate in an informal meeting in Austria next week, where Barnier will receive new instructions for continuing the negotiations with the UK. Officially, these new guidelines will be adopted at the October summit. The summit for Brexit is scheduled to take place on 13 November.
