Bulgaria to Receive €2.3 million from the Solidarity Fund

Тhe European Parliament supported Bulgaria with financial assistance under the Solidarity Fund. This happened during the plenary session in Strasbourg, the “24-chasa” newspaper reported.

Bulgaria will receive €2.3 million to cover the costs of the restoration of the municipal infrastructure in Burgas District, damaged by the floods at the end of 2017. This includes bridges, water supply, and sewerage, riverbed cleaning, and restoration of the health and social structures.

The Bulgarian MEP from GERB / EPP Andrey Novakov requested a shortening of the allocation period so that the resource to be available to the Bulgarian authorities as soon as possible, and this proposition was also approved by the EP.
