Bulgarians Selling Infants to Childless Couples Arrested in Greece

The Greek police in Athens arrested four Bulgarian women after an investigation. They were part of a criminal group dealing with selling infants to childless couples. The group has been operating since last year.

They are captured by undercover police officers - in an apartment in the Greek capital, law enforcement officers introduced themselves as a couple wanting to buy a baby. The deal was that they will receive a 4-days-old baby for EUR 18,000.

One of the arrested is the mother of the baby. Another woman from the group is pregnant and the rest have recently become mothers. Within the police operation, besides the Bulgarians, another 5 people were arrested.
