Bulgarians Pessimistic About the Future of the Economy

The survey of the National Statistical Institute in July compared to the one made at the end of the previous quarter shows that the Bulgarian citizen looks at the authorities with greater distrust. Also, they are pessimistic about the country's economy and for the personal budget.

In July, the consumer confidence indicator declined by 0.6% compared with the previous quarter, and while among the urban population it increased, in the villages it declined.

People are more critical of the economic development over the past period and more pessimistic about the upcoming one. In addition, the country's population is dissatisfied with the rise in prices and expects the inflation to increase. However, the unemployment is expected to remain at the current levels.

City residents tend to plan a purchase in the upcoming 12 months, while residents in the villages do not have enough money for a larger expense.
