"Salt and Ice" Game Causes 11-Year-Old to Burn His Hand

Another dangerous game on the Internet, called "Salt and Ice", became the reason an 11-year-old boy burned his hand. The new fashion among teenagers makes them perform instructions posted on the web, and many of the challenges are even uploaded on Youtube.

The injured Kaloyan has already undergone three interventions. The child joined the game to see how much he can withstand pain. The result is blistering on the hand, visits, and interventions at "Pirogov" Hospital. In conducting the experiment, the chemical reaction between water, salt, and ice cause the temperature of the treated site to drop to -21 degrees, causing frost.

Doctors said that the child is not the first patient. Many children before him have suffered the same challenge.

This is not the only dangerous game on the Internet. A 14-year-old girl was found by police officers at the Trakia Motorway near Sofia. She was looking for a treasure with her friends. Younger children also took part in the game. The object of the game is to find a hidden treasure, and the places where the participant should search are displayed on the map of the application. According to the rules of the game, if you find something, you are also obliged to leave something. What children already have found were phones, computer parts, and even money. Most of the locations are dangerous places.

Last year, the game "Blue Whale" - which teenagers from Russia, Kazakhstan, Ukraine "played", came also to Bulgaria. When Writing "#bluewhale", the child is contacted by personal "guardian" messages, who for 49 days had been assigned to him tasks related to injuries, burns, watching horror movies. On the 50th day the instruction was to commit suicide: jump from the top floor, throw yourself under the tires of a moving car, or even under a train. In case of refusal, there were threats of a murder of family members and loved ones.
