Protest in Support of the Bulgarian Automobile Chamber Act

Today from 11.00 AM to 5.00 PM in Sofia, the auto and bus carriers organize a protest.

The aim is to declare the strong support for the unification of the sector through the Law on the Bulgarian Automobile Chamber. The date of the protest was chosen spontaneously in a response to the decision to withdraw the bill. The organizers are the Union of International Carriers and the Bulgarian Association of Road Transport Associations.

Compliance with the Constitution of the country is one of the requirements of the carriers. Other carriers will join the protest in Sofia from Plovdiv, Varna, Rousse, Bourgas, Veliko Tarnovo, Pleven, Yambol, Svilengrad, Sandanski, and Vratsa.

"At a time when the whole state and society united in defense of the interests of the sector before the European Commission and the European Parliament, we can not accept that there are serious companies who reasonably argue against the long-standing idea of creating a Bulgarian Transport Chamber through law, before even reflecting the proposals for changes to the texts," commented the bus carriers. They called on all Bulgarian politicians to come together to adopt a working and acceptable law.

This week the bus carriers invited all nationally-represented associations in the passenger transport sector to form a confederation.
