Borisov Summarized the Achievements of the Bulgarian EU Presidency

Today in the European Parliament Prime Minister Boyko Borisov summarized the results achieved by the Bulgarian Presidency of the Council of the EU.

Borisov commented that four main priorities were put in place, with a success in each one of them, including the fight against corruption. "We have made a new anti-corruption law that gives us new opportunities, and I hope this topic to be removed from our agenda," he said.

Borisov added that 41 out of 105 agreements with the EP have been achieved during the Presidency.

The biggest success, he said, was the dialogue on the EU's agenda of the European perspective for the Western Balkan countries. Moreover, the meeting in Sofia on 17 May and the resolution of the name dispute between Athens and Skopje, was a big success. The PM described the event as a "historical moment".

The prime minister also added that Bulgaria currently has zero pressure from migration.

From the Hall in Strasbourg, he thanked all technical teams and translators who helped for the successful presentation of the Euro-Presidency.

European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker expressed his gratitude to everyone and added that it was a pleasure to work with Bulgarians.
