The Bulgarian Connection in Illegal Arms Trafficking

The Greek authorities are investigating illegal arms trafficking with a Bulgarian connection. BNR reportеd that 20 pistols have been found on the border crossing point Promachonas in a truck with baby food coming from Bulgaria. The consignee of the merchandise is the owner of arms shops on Crete.

The police on Crete have found a warehouse with weapons that are sufficient to arm a whole army, said also the report. The investigation so far indicates that the origin of some of the weapons is Bulgaria.

A well-organized network for illegal arms trafficking has been revealed. Police have detained six Greeks. Customer recruitment has taken place over the Internet, and delivery - by courier or personally by the members of the group.

The authorities continue the investigation.
