Bulgarian National Radio Employees To Protest Again
Sofia, Bulgaria -
Tomorrow, July 11, at 8:30 AM in front of the Bulgarian National Radio, music groups, journalists and technical specialists from the Radio are going to protest. This was announced by the Chairwoman of Radio association "Podkrepa" to Confederation of Labour "Podkrepa" Darina Grigorova. The union also sent a protest letter to the media and the institutions.
The lack of transparency, clear criteria in the allocation of the BNR budget and the extremely low remuneration of the work of the employees of the Bulgarian National Radio are just some of the reasons for the protest. In addition, it is mentioned that the hiring process includes mainly people outside the work process. The journalistic units suffer from a lack of staff, as well as low wages.
The employees also comment on the existence of an authoritarian rule and a lack of dialogue, as well as a lack of a clear vision for the development of the radio. They want the legislators to review the principles of BNR funding.
