Bulgarian Presidency Was Focused on Digital Europe

During the opening ceremony of the Webit.Festival Europe, which is now happening in Sofia, the Minister of the Bulgarian Presidency of the EU Council Lilyana Pavlova announced that the Bulgarian Presidency has done everything regarding for Digital Europe to be developing.

Minister Pavlova: "Because we have to adapt to the digital reality, we have provided the basis for being competitive in the digital sphere and for business to operate in it. We have worked hard in difficult debates to adopt legislation on the protection of personal data."

The Minister also added that part of the main focus during the Bulgarian Presidency was to work on creating a digital, united and strong Europe and made a reference to the Bulgarian motto "Unity Makes Power".

In his speech, Prime Minister Boyko Borisov commented that Bulgaria has decided to invest in children's education due to the fast development of the technologies. "And we have to prepare our children to meet these challenges", he said.

Webit.Festival is the biggest and most impactful tech and digital policy event for Europe with a focus on Central and Eastern Europe.
