Bulgarian Students With Absences to be Surveilled

Deputy Minister of Education Denitsa Sacheva announced that with the introduction of the electronic diary from the next school year, parents will be called to appear in the school after 130 hours of absences, for which the students do not have a document. This will happen by submitting a notification from the directors of the schools. In such cases, administrative penalties should be imposed on parents who are not caring.

Students who are at risk or have absences for unreasonable reasons will be under surveillance. If they provide a medical note, which seems to be not real, the directors can scan it and initiate a check to see if the note is fake.

The Deputy Minister added, that they know all the practices, which include faking medical notes or students buying them, and that is the reason why sometimes the parents do not know that their child is missing classes. This method will result in them being informed easily.
