Bulgarian Media Map for 2017

A recent statistics of Piero97 - media and consultancy agency in Bulgaria since 1998, on the Media market of Bulgaria, shows the preferences of the Bulgarian nation in the different sectors.

All figures are up to December 2017 and released in May 2018. The sources are: GARB Audience Measurement Bulgaria, Nielsen Atmosphere, publishers, TV and radio stations, abonamenti.com, predavatel.com, press publications, Piero 97 internal statistics, Gemius Bulgaria, New Media Lab, Google Consumer barometer, Httpool Bulgaria - ad sales partner of Viber, LinkedIn, Twitter & Spotify. 

In the favorite statistics of the media distributors- Top 10 TVs share by residence, with audience 18 – 49 years old, according to NIELSEN, the first place is for Nova TV with 26.10% for a big town, 23.92% especially for Sofia, followed by their biggest competitor – BTV with 16.20% for a big town and 17.46% for Sofia. The GARB data shows, however, that bTV is the favourite television the audience, gaining 29.57% in Sofia, followed by Nova TV with 17.06%. According to GARB again, during the week, the audience watch the program of BTV more than the one for Nova TV. BNT 1, the public television, gets the lowest percentages on average time spent watching their program.

Pharmaceuticals get the gold medal in the data for The Top 10 product sectors in TV with 16% rating and 20.2% share, followed by Foods and Cosmetics with respectively 15% and 13 %. Kaufland is the top of the Internet advisers for 2017. With the index of 100, it is followed by Vivacom (71) and Mondelez (67). The last one in the rank list is Bet Fair (23).

“Telegraph” newspaper is first with 10.01% average weekly reach for 2016 and 9.05% for 2017, followed by “24 Chasa”, which have a 0.51% decrease for 2017, reaching 6.47%. “Capital Daily” has the smallest average weekly reach both for 2016 and 2017 – 0.05% and 0.01% respectively.

In the field of radio, radio “Veselina” leads the leaderboard of the Top 15 radio stations by average rating all, 15 – 69, with having 0.77% for 2017. The public radio “BNR Horizont” gets the silver medal with 0.63% for 2017.

“The Fate Of The Furious”,” Star Wars: The Last Jedi” and “The Beauty And The Beast” are the top 3 Bulgarian movies for 2017.
