Bulgarian Drivers: Safe Drive Index 2018

Bulgarian drivers often exceed the limits, dazzle the opposite with the driving lights and park incorrectly.

This shows the data from the Safety Index for 2018.

SDIndex (Safe Drive Index) is a generalized self-assessment of the behaviour and reactions of road drivers in routine risky situations. The assessment is representative of the Bulgarian drivers of cars and light vehicles between the ages of 18 and 75 at the national level.

Exceeding the permissible speed is the most widespread risk action among Bulgarian drivers aged between 18 and 65. 71% of 1000 being asked to say that this happened to them at least once in the last year.

Inappropriate route planning and avoidable traffic jams are the second most common situation - 56% of Bulgarian drivers say that is happening to them.

Parking in unauthorized places (53%), neglect of the speed restrictions in the early morning and late evening (47%) fill the arrangement the most common risk along the Bulgarian roads.

The value of the National Road Safety Index for 2018 is 89.6 with a maximum value of 100 and a minimum value of 0. The majority of drivers assess their own driving style rather as risk-free and that of other road users as being at risk.

To the question: How do you determine the drivers you encounter most often?- 11% say that others are extremely risky, and a total of 73% identify others as rather risky. When it comes to themselves (how they determine themselves) 43% think they are extremely risk-free and 89% consider themselves to be rather risk-free drivers.
