President Rumen Radev: The Bulgarian Government has Developed the Right Priorities for its Presidency

President Rumen Radev congratulated the government's efforts and its courage to uphold the Western Balkan Euro-Perspective priority on a conference of European Affairs Committees of the parliaments of the countries of the EU.

"First of all, the Bulgarian government has developed the right priorities for its presidency, including the Western Balkans, and we cannot talk about a prosperous and stable Europe without guaranteeing the security and stability of the Western Balkans. The Bulgarian government has shown courage by choosing very difficult topics. Somebody needs take responsibility and point out the problems and take action," said Rumen Radev.

"The Bulgarian side has actively contributed to the achievement of the objectives set out in the program of the trio Estonia, Bulgaria, Austria, and the Bulgarian Presidency has put a major emphasis on the integration of the Western Balkan countries into the EU," said National Assembly President Tsvetka Karayancheva, who opened the forum. She hopes that the support achieved in the national parliaments and the European Parliament for the enlargement process would be adequately reflected by the European governments and the forthcoming Council of the European Union.

During the presidency, we set up an ambitious task and we accomplish it - building bridges and being a mediator in a constructive dialogue. This was said by the Minister for the Bulgarian Presidency Lilyana Pavlova. "Our Presidency works on all the topics of the European agenda and the agenda of the trio. There was no topic or legislative file on which we did not work," said Minister Pavlova.
