Entry Salary for Bulgaria's Teachers Increased to 920 Leva

The entry salary of Bulgarian teachers will become 920 leva starting on January 1, 2019.

The deal was signed between the Bulgarian Minister of Education and the “Education” syndicate. The minimal salary of a senior teacher will become 950 leva, and 1005 leva for a “main” teacher.

The syndicate also reminded that the minister of finance, Vladislav Goranov, said that teachers will get the salary increase in October 2018 if the budget allowed it. Money for the “presentable” apparel of teachers will also be given – 430 leva per teacher. On retirement, teachers will receive 10 and a half work salaries.

Educators will receive 3 additional payments – on 24th of May (the day of Bulgarian culture and writing), the 15th of September (the start of Bulgaria’s school year) and the 1rst of November (the day of the national enlighteners.)

Bulgaria’s minister of education revealed plans to make Bulgaria’s schools more relevant in today’s technological world.
