The Leader of the Bulgarian Socialists Meets With the Minister of Defense

The leader of the Bulgarians Socialist Party Korneliya Ninova met with the Minister of Defense Krasimir Karakachanov after the Minister had invited her to discuss his vision for the Bulgarian military.

After the meeting, both gave brief interviews. Minister Karakachanov explained that the invitation was sent because he had felt that Mrs Ninova did not fully understand his plans for the Bulgarian military. He felt obliged to lay down his thesis as well as facts and strategies in order to ensure a better political dialogue for the future.

When asked whether or not Ninova asked him to resign, Karakachanov said that resignations were not part of the conversation. However, Ninova herself said that she expressed her and her party's opinion that the current government should not exist and should resign. As Nova has said many times before - she does not approve of the United Patriots' participation in the government (the United Patriots include Minister Karakachanov's party as well). However, she did confirm that she is ready to talk with the government about the four major issues that have nothing to do with elections, terms, and power. The issues are - national security, the demographic crisis, healthcare, and education.
