GERB Officials Meet With PRC's Ambassador to Bulgaria

The leader of the parliamentary group of GERB, Tsvetan Tsvetanov, and several other members of the party met with the Chinese ambassador to Bulgaria, Zhang Haizhou. Ambassador Zhang Haizhou also met with GERB’s leader and Bulgaria’s Prime Minister Boyko Borisov.

During the meeting, the two parties discussed the rescue operation of Boyan Petrov, who went missing in the Chinese part of the Himalayas recently. The ambassador pointed out that the Chinese authorities replied to Bulgaria’s pleas for help quickly and even helped Petrov’s teacher travel to China and assist the operation by issuing him a visa in the span of 30 minutes. Tsvetanov acknowledged that and thanked China for the quick reaction.

He also underlined the long-standing cooperation between Bulgaria and China. Indeed, earlier this year it was reported that China is Bulgaria’s most preferred business partner.
