"Children of Bulgaria" Organizes A Fundraiser for a Special Needs Center in Plovdiv

The US-based non-profit organization Children of Bulgaria will raise money for the support of children with special needs in Plovdiv.

Several years ago, the Plovdiv Center for Specialized Educational Support was destroyed in a fire. The Bulgarian government gave some funds for the construction of a new building that reportedly remains empty and unusable due to the lack of the necessary equipment. The Children of Bulgaria foundation raised money to donate said equipment to the building.

Cabinets for art therapy, kinesiotherapy, and communicative therapy will be established. Last year, CB managed to raise enough money for the “Dr. Ivan Shishmanov” school for children with impaired vision in Varna. The funds were raised during a cocktail party in the Bulgarian consulate in New York.

This year’s fundraising event will happen on May 10 on 344 Bowery, 10012, New York, and the organization also accepts online donations on their website.
