37-year-old Bulgarian Woman Found Dead in Austria

The 37-year-old Bulgarian Violeta Ivanova was found dead in the Austrian part of the Danube river. She disappeared recently and was declared missing at the beginning of April. Her body was found on Tuesday, May 3rd, 2018, near the power plant in Melk.

Just prior to her death, Violeta was going through rehab for alcoholism in the Austrian town of Ybbs. She was reportedly seen with her boyfriend, a 50-year-old Hungarian kiosk owner. He said that she fell in the river while she was drunk. The Hungarian claims he couldn’t help her because he doesn’t know how to swim. Violeta’s family doesn’t believe that story, claiming Violeta’s death was no accident. Her mother, Dida Videva, said: “There are too many inconsistencies.”

An autopsy will probably shed some light on the tragedy. It certainly seems odd that her boyfriend would not inform the authorities if Violeta indeed fell down in the icy Danube waters by accident.
