Two Middle-Aged Men Arrested With 3 Kilograms of Weed

The police in Sliven, Bulgaria, arrested two men with 3 kilograms of marijuana.

On the 25th of May, the police stopped two men, aged 42 and 50, riding in a BMW. Both had criminal records. The police found a bag with 0.500 kilograms of marijuana on the back seat of the car. After the men were arrested and their homes search, the additional 3 packages of the substance were discovered, weighing about 3 kilograms. The field test confirmed the substance to be marijuana. According to Bulgarian media, one of the men was sentenced for theft while the other for loan sharking.

Earlier this year, a 9-grader was arrested for 22 grams of cannabis. Marijuana is illegal in Bulgaria, but it's still widely available. The country’s southern neighbor, Greece, plans to legalize the production of medical marijuana soon, which will reportedly bring billions of dollars to the state’s massively indebted economy.
