American University in Bulgaria - 2018 Graduation Ceremony

204 bachelors from 22 countries will receive their diplomas from the American University in Bulgaria, on Sunday the 20th of 2018, in front of their relatives, lecturers, officials and business representatives. They will be congratulated by Ekaterina Zaharieva, Deputy Prime Minister for Justice Reform and Minister of Foreign Affairs. At the ceremony, the graduates of the Master's Program in Business Administration for AUBG Leadership in Sofia will also receive their diploma.
The honorary speaker at this year's ceremony is Rossitsa Zaimova, AUBG graduate (2011 class), who ranked among the top 300 young leaders from 34 countries in Europe in the Forbes for "30 under 30" last year. Rossitza Zaimova is co-founder and partner of Dalberg Data Insights, which develops data interpretation tools to solve major social problems in the areas of international development, humanitarian activities and social impact.
This year, half of the graduates are Bulgarians and the rest come from countries like the US, Russia, Albania, Mongolia, Nigeria and Vietnam. 70% of AUBG students complete their higher education with two majors. "Business Administration" is the most preferred speciality among graduates - 37%, followed by "Economics", "Journalism and Mass Communications" and "Political Science and International Relations".
Greetings to the class will be delivered by Dr Steven Sullivan, President of AUBG, and Andrew McClearne of the US Embassy in Bulgaria.
