21-year-old Woman Gets 20,000 Leva Bail Leave After Plowing Through 10 Cars

The 21-year-old Gabriela Madarova that ploughed through 10 parked cars will be released by the Bulgarian Courts after her 20,000 leva bail is paid.

Subsequent to the accident happened, the police found that Madarova was under the influence was cannabis and alcohol.

Here’s a rundown of the events –in the early hours of April 15, 2018, Gabriela drove her BMW jeep in a line of 10 cars. She fled the scene and was later arrested by the police in her apartment. She tested positive for alcohol and marijuana consumption. According to some sources, Gabriela tried to get her mother to take the blame for the incident but later admitted fault.

Gabriela claimed she drove under the influence of alcohol because lacked money for a taxi and that she only smokes marijuana to calm her nerves after the incident. Gabriela also claimed that she didn’t flee the scene of the crime, but simply returned to her home for 10 minutes.

Madarova's lawyer, Orlin Tarnolyiski, claims that his client had a mental breakdown during her detention. She was constantly crying in her cell. During the court case, Gabriela was also visibly upset.

She said: “I am very sorry and I thank God there were no casualties. I will never get in a car, even if they give me a license.” She also said: “I want to go back to my family, it's very hard for me in jail.” Her parents commented that they’ll pay her bail and that they have the money. They also said she didn’t drink or take drugs.
