GERB: The Bulgarian and European Socialists Are Behind Ginka Varbakova

During parliamentary debates today, the GERB MP Spas Garnevski read a declaration from the parliament's podium in which the party openly accuses the Bulgarian Socialist Party and the Party of the European Socialists in standing behind the controversial CEZ-Bulgaria deal between the Czech company and the Bulgaria-based "Inerkom" - property of Ginka Varbakova.

On what grounds does the governing party accuse its opposition? The new owner of CEZ-Bulgaria - "Inerkom" released a statement to the Bulgarian media with a file attached to it - the file contained the actual statement. What is more interesting than the statement itself is the author of said attached file - Monika Yosifova. This is the name of the current wife of the former leader of the BSP and the current President of the Party of the European Socialists - Sergey Stanishev.

Mr. Garnevski said that he is disgusted with the BSP's hypocrisy. For over two weeks - ever since the deal was announced - the Bulgarian socialists propagated the idea that GERB's government is behind the deal. Just this week, members of the BSP protested in front of the building of the Council of Ministers and demanded the resignation of the entire government. Here's how Garnevski concluded:
"Has it become clear now, dear colleagues, who the stinkers are? Yesterday, Cornelia Ninova (the leader of the BSP) and her clique were looking for them on "Independence" square (the council of ministers' address) but it turns out once more that they are to be found on "Pozitano"!(the headquarters of the Bulgarian socialist party)

The Socialist MP Dragomir Stoynev claimed the accusations are fake news and insisted that any MP should be ashamed of spreading such false facts from the podium of the National Assembly. However, there hasn't been proof whether or not the Monika Yosifova named in the file is the Monika Yosifova to which Garnevski points. We will be following the development of the story.
