The Government Starts Checking Into Horse Breeding due to the Osogovo Incident

The Bulgarian state will conduct investigations into the people who breed and take care of wild horses due to the large media attention for the incident in the Osogovo Mountain.

The Director of the Bulgarian Agency for Food Safety ordered a mass checkup on all equine farms in Bulgaria, with the office seeing into the documents, food, conditions, and treatment of horses. New reports will be made each week. It remains to be seen whether Bulgaria’s horse breeders are as incompetent as the owner of the Osogovo horses.

According to a previous report, the boom in wild horses in some parts of Bulgaria was due to European funding of particular rare breeds.
