The British Ambassador to Bulgaria: "It's Time We Tell Russia Enough Is Enough"

Emma Hopkins, the British ambassador to Bulgaria, said that the United Kingdom has no doubt that it is indeed Russia who is behind the attempt on Sergey Skripal's and his daughter's lives.

She gave an interview for NovaTV today. According to her, London has solid proof to support this claim. The British investigators have already sent a probe to the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) for an independent test. The OPCW isn't the only independent laboratory that is currently testing the substance. The ambassador claims that her country has gathered proof that for the last 10 years Russia has been actively developing its capabilities in killing people all over the world with neuro-paralytic substances.

Her Excellency sees a pattern in Russia's behavior - the annexation of Crimea, the support for the Assad administration, the attempted coup in Montenegro, cyber attacks, meddling in foreign elections, disinformation. She believes it is time to say that enough is enough. She thanked Bulgaria for its support and solidarity with the United Kingdom and stressed that the two countries will maintain a good relationship even after Brexit has been finalized.

There has been a wave of countries throwing out Russian diplomats as a result of the incident, mostly diplomats believed to be intelligence officers (a fairly common practice). The Prime Minister of Bulgaria, as reported by EUScoop, was slightly more skeptical on the matter.
