Boyko Borisov: Bulgaria Will Not Oust Russian Diplomats Without Solid Proof

No Russian diplomats will be recalled from Bulgaria according to the country’s Prime Minister Boyko Borisov, pointing to the lack of proof of Moscow involvement in the incident.

During a visit to Brussels, Borisov commented that he needs more proof of Russian involvement in the poisoning of Sergei Skripal, for which Russia was blamed by the UK. The event prompted the EU to recall their Russian ambassador. Many European countries promised to do the same to their Russian ambassadors.

The PM also said he’d discuss the issue with his cabinet once he returns to Bulgaria, but will not do anything more drastic as long as there’s no solid proof of Russian involvement.

Further, Borisov added: “We all believe in Britain’s position. By “high level of possibility” there’s the word “possibility. When there’s a possibility there’s also another possibility. I was reminded of the time when Saddam Hussein was blamed for chemical weapons, subsequently, Tony Blair apologized.”
