Bulgaria Is Giving 200k to Syrian Refugees

The Bulgarian Council of Ministers approved a donation of €200,000 to the EU Regional Trust Fund in Response to the Syrian Crisis also known as the "Madad" fund. The fund supports refugees fleeing from Syria to escape the civil war in the country. The fund is mainly aimed at refugees that have found haven in neighboring countries such as Jordan, Turkey, Iran, Lebanon. 

By the end of 2017, over €1.4 billion has been donated to the fund, from which €106 million was given voluntarily by EU-member states. The European Commission acknowledges that the fund has financed programs for over €1.213 billion. About 40% of the money was given to refugees in Turkey, 28% in Lebanon, 17% - Jordan and 9% - Iran. The decision has been made according to the Bulgarian budget.
