Man Who Discovered His Grandchildren Were Held Hostage Was Found Dead.

The 87-year-old Stefan Yanev, who recently revealed that his grandchildren were held hostage by their own parents, was found murdered in building 741 of the Sofia neighborhood "Lyulin". The man was reported missing on February 12th.

His three granddaughters aged 13, 14 and 18 lived in complete isolation and never attended school. They were practically hostages to their parents who disliked the Bulgarian educational system. The first time the story went public was during a Bulgarian court show known as "Court argument". There the grandfather explained how the kids live locked in their home.

The man had previously tried to contact social services but his daughter wouldn't let them in. However, the team of the show was able to visit the apartment and witness the conditions the three girls lived in. The police have apprehended both Yanev's daughter and her partner -they both belong to the Adventist church - however, their treatment of the children is not reported to have any link to religious fundamentalism.
