The Mayor of Plovdiv Says He Does Not Care About the Metal Fence in the Town's Center

Earlier this month it was reported that a metal fence was built as a sign of protest of former kiosk owners whose businesses were demolished. Now the mayor of Plovdiv answers.

During a press conference in Plovdiv, the mayor of the city, Ivan Totev said that he does not care. The near 300sq. metres of metal fences on one of the city’s central squares are not a problem for him, as according to his words “It does not trouble anyone”.

Still, the question remains if they plan on finding a satisfactory solution to the problem, as in 2019, the city will be the European Capital of Culture. For now, the local government has not shared a distinct policy on the problem, neither has the court come-up with a deadline for the finalization of the problem.
