Police Arrests a Suspect in Viktoria Marinova's Murder

The police arrested a suspect in the rape and murder of Viktoria Marinova, the Bulgarian journalist that was found dead in Ruse, Bulgaria.

The suspect's identity and nationality are unconfirmed, but some reports state that he is a Ukrainian or a Moldovan vagrant with a Romanian citizenship. The man is arrested for 24 hours. The 30-year-old Viktoria Marinova was found dead after she went on her daily jog on the Danube shore. Her family and friends couldn't reach her phone, as it was disabled. At around 2 PM, a man found the body after noticing blood stains on the ground.

Marinova's death was widely reported in Bulgaria due to her career as a journalist. Many speculate that the murder was carried out in order to silence her investigations into several controversial cases in Bulgaria.
