Bulgarian Minister of Education and Science: BGN 1.5 Million For Innovations in 2019

In the year 2019, about BGN 1.5 million will be allocated for innovations. This was stated by the Minister of Education and Science Krasimir Valchev, FOCUS News Agency reported. Valchev commented that in this way, more young educators will want to work in schools, and this is also the main goal of the investment - the retention of young people.

In his words, the formula that relies on the education system is innovation and investment in teachers and added that the physical environment cannot be ignored as well. Valchev commented that this is also the only standard in the Pre-school and School Education Act that has not been issued, and one of the reasons for its delay is that it does not provide a policy for the school of the future.

According to the minister, the standard does not show how the school should look, but rather reflects the current norms. He announced that there is currently a working group at the Ministry of Education, which develops this standard in perspective, aiming to create a more effective school environment.
