ЕUR 14 Million Owned by Companies Related to "GP Group" are Distrained

The Prosecutor's Office has distraint EUR 14 million owned by companies and traders related to the “GP group”. This was announced by the chief prosecutor in Ruse, where he is on a visit because of the murdered journalist Victoria Marinova. The distraint was imposed after the Prosecutor's Office had exercised its powers under the Measures against Money Laundering Act.

Sotir Tsatsarov commented that the prosecutor's investigation had grown into pre-trial proceedings, but the volume of work is large and the investigation continues.

In the middle of last month, the Prosecutor's Office instructed the State Security Agency to verify a publication in Bivol, because of which two journalists - Bulgarian and Romanian - were detained near Radomir while investigating corrupt practices.

All natural and legal persons identified in the Prosecutions’ signal, regardless of whether they are traders or non-governmental organizations, are screened in the investigation.
