Bulgarian Policeman Advised Relatives of a Child Hit by Car to Not Disclose the Case to the Media

Protest in the village of Tarnak after a drunk driver ran over an 11-year-old child and was released later by the police. Relatives blocked the road to the village, demanding justice, bTV reported.

11-year-old Sarah is in a very bad condition. Doctors have told the child's patents to expect the worst. They are categorical that the child has not crossed the street, and the car has no braking path. The girl's family does not believe the police and the prosecution.

The neighbors commented that the police advised them not to distribute information in the media as pre-trial proceedings were taking place. A conversation is recorded on a video by one of the relatives of the victim, where it can be clearly heard that one policeman commented: "Just say nothing, silence, the more you blow the case, the worse." According to the police, the media writes crap information and interferes with the investigation.

On October 2, shortly before 8 pm, a 59-year-old drunk driver ran over the 11-year-old girl. The police have reported 1.48 ‰ of alcohol, but according to the relatives, this is not real. The man was detained for 24 hours and now - released. Police have explained that the prosecution has not extended the measure.
