Kristian Vigenin: OLAF to Check "GP Group"

The Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on European Affairs and Oversight of European Funds, Kristian Vigenin commented to the Bulgarian National Radio that it is right for OLAF to check what is happening with the “GP Group” and not to give sentences through the media as this has serious consequences. He was referring to Prime Minister Borisov's statement asking the company to be withdrawn from European and state-funded projects. Vigenin urged Borisov to refrain from such comments.

This, according to Vigenin, is a misunderstanding of the content of the word "rule of law" and the other problem is that such orders to the media are being implemented and that there should be stable institutions in the country to say that this is not possible. Vigenin insisted on a clear separation of authorities and focus on setting up working institutions.

Vigenin called for the murder of the journalist Victoria Marinova not to be used to inflict ethnic tensions and added that the guilt was not on any ethnicity, but an individual one.
