Bulgarian Government Asks the Citizens - Summer of Winter Time?

An online consultation on the attitudes of Bulgarians regarding the change of time has begun. The results will be taken into consideration when making the position, which of the two options will be chosen for Bulgaria, BNT reported. Citizens' preferences can be declared on the government portal www.euaffairs.government.bg until 11 October.

However, some problems appeared - the voting takes hours, as it requires registration of the site, which approval could take more than 1 hour. Moreover, there is no clear question which time citizens prefer - whether the summer or the winter one.

Deputy Prime Minister Tomislav Donchev said there was no need for a referendum on the change of time, but he called for a representative study, stressing that he wants to hear the opinion of doctors and specialists in energy efficiency. The deputy prime minister also added that it is quite possible that during the spring of 2019 will be the last date in which we change the time and then it would remain in the summer one.

The European Commission's consultation on this issue has proven to be far more successful and faster for consumers the Bulgarian one- it takes about three minutes, with over four and a half million people involved in it.
